The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple TV+ has 33.6 million subscribers, compared to 31.8 million for Hulu and 23.2 million for Disney+. Of course, a lot of those subscribers got the $4.99/month streaming service for free with the purchase of a new Mac, iPad, or iPhone.
We’ll see how many hang around after their free year’s subscription is up. However, I expect it will be plenty if Apple continues to add new content and keeps the price reasonable.
And Apple TV+ still has a long way to go to catch Netflix (61.3 subscribers) and Amazon Prime (42.2 subscribers). However, 33.6 million subscribers in less than three months is nothing to sneeze at.
