The special Apple event rumored for Tuesday, Sept. 12, is still rumored — but now the The Wall Street Journal echoes that prediction. If it’s true, expect to see the tech giant send out invitations to the media any day now.
In the past two years Apple has used San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for the annual unveiling of the iPhone, but the WSJ says the company plans to use the 1,000-seat Steve Jobs Theater on its new “spaceship” campus this year. However, the campus isn’t yet finished and construction timetable could affect the timing or location of the event, the article adds, quoting unnamed “people familiar with the plans.”
Whenever the event is held, odds are the “iPhone 8,” iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 7s Plus, Apple Watch Series 3, and next get Apple TV with 4K/HDR support will be unveiled.
If AI-equipped Macs are coming soon, Apple’s timing could be perfect.
