It’s hard for me to find the right-sized watchband for my Apple Watch, at least ones with perforations for adjusting the tightness.
One day Apple may release its own self-tightening bands. Until then, most notched watch bands are either two tight on my bony wrists or else flop around. However, Urban Armor Gear has launched new Apple Watch Straps, which have (mostly) solved my dilemma. I use the Active Strap for my daily runs and sports activities and the Leather Strap at other times.
The former is made of stainless steel custom hardware and has a hook & loop fastener such as that on the Apple Sport Loop. The latter is designed with soft leather, stainless steel custom hardware, and a snapping collar.
The Active Watch Strap costs $59.95 and is available in black, orange, and midnight and is available for the Apple Watch Series 1-4. Its nylon weave is extremely durable and very comfortable to wear. Most importantly for me: it’s easy to adjust its tightness.
The $69.95 UAG Leather Watch Strap also works with all Apple Watch models. Made with Italian Leather and hand stitched, it’s one of the best-looking bands available. Since it naturally patinas with wear it will only look better as time goes by.
The Active Watch Strap is my go-to for sweaty workouts. For other activities — and for when the sweat-soaked strap needs time to dry — I use the Leather Watch Strap. For me and my skinny wrists, it’s a win-win combo.
