The workers at the Iconfactory have released Twitterrific 5.10 for iPhone (free with in-app purchases) with some very nice new features, including drafts, muffle and mute.
Drafts
I’m liking drafts a whole lot. To send a tweet to your drafts library, simply tap “close” after composing it, and then hit “Save Draft.” When you’re ready to publish, tap the paper icon at the bottom of the compose window to flip it over and reveal your list of drafts. From here you’ve got two options.
The Copy Drafts button will puts the saved tweet into the current compose field and copies it to the clipboard. The other button moves the draft to the compose field, deleting it from your drafts queue. Note that the former method keeps your draft in the queue while the latter deletes it. If there’s a message that you’ll re-use — “Reminder: We’ll be live on Periscope in 15 minutes” — use Copy Drafts to save yourself some time.
Drafts are account-specific. If you manage several Twitter accounts like I do, each can have its own library of drafts in Twitterrific 5.10. Again, this is super handy as I often set up AWT tweets ahead of time, and don’t necessarily want to see them in my @davidcaolo draft queue. Lastly, drafts sync across iOS devices. Yay!
With a week to go until the official launch of the Apple Watch, Apple has updated its retail website to give potential buyers information about a new Apple Watch Basics workshop. The workshop doesn’t appear to be something that is currently in the works for every Apple Store, but it’s beginning to show up as a Concierge option at selected locations.
For example, I selected my local Apple Store (Aspen Grove) in the Apple Store iOS app and found the first workshop listed for Monday, April 27 at 10:15 AM MDT. The description for the workshop says:
If you were lucky enough to get a 4/24 – 5/8 scheduled delivery date for your Apple Watch and your local Apple Store is holding the workshop, you may wish to sign up as soon as possible to ensure that you’re able to grab a little extra knowledge from trained employees. If that initial delivery date rushes by without word of a shipment, you can always cancel the appointment to give another Watch owner an opportunity to attend.
These workshops are liable to be quite popular as they’re for a completely new device with novel ways of interaction, and the initial supply of Watches was gobbled up in the first weekend of sales. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI estimates that worldwide, Apple may have sold 2.3 million Apple Watches. Supplies of the wearables will not be in Apple Stores for in-store purchase until June at the earliest.
