Twelve South’s ParcSlope is a must-have accessory for Mac laptops, iPads

Twelve South has released a new minimal version of its ParcSlope, an US$59.99 hybrid stand for the MacBook and iPad. It’s a great accessory for either.

The dual-purpose stand elevates the Apple devices for better ergonomics without giving up access to the MacBook keyboard and Touch Bar.

It also tilts iPads to create a sturdy easel for drawing, working or editing music and photos. Plus, it boasts built-in cable management that helps reduce desktop clutter. The ParcSlope — designed to match aesthetically with Apple products — can be used on virtually any desk at home or work. This stand also comes in handy on a kitchen counter, stand-up workstation, or workbench where it elevates a Mac laptop or iPad enough to reduce neck strain.

For those who prefer a dual-screen workstation with a Mac laptop, the ParcSlope can be used alongside your favorite external display for a side-by-side setup. I use it with an LG UltraFine 5K Display and an M1 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The one-piece stand can also be used as part of a stacked display setup in which an external display floats above a MacBook resting atop the ParcSlope. Or you can use it as a stand for using your iPad with a Mac using the macOS Sidecar feature.

Introduced with macOS Catalina, Sidecar allows an iPad to be used as an extended display for Mac and a high-precision drawing tablet across supported Mac apps. The ParcSlope has a silicone pad with three small ridges on top that allow 11-inch, 13-inch or 15-inch hinged MacBook screens to fully open. The front cutaway on the ParcSlope is designed to match the one found on Apple devices. Soft silicone pads cushion your Mac or iPad Pro. Rubber pads on the bottom of the stand protect your work surface.

I use it with both my M1 MacBook Pro and my 12.9-inch iPad Pro. The ParcSlope is on my “must-have” accessories list.
