In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — analystMing-Chi Kuo says he thinks Apple will leave out the US$29 Lightning EarPods when the “iPhone 12” ships to consumer this fall.
He doesn’t explain why the tech giant would do this. However, he thinks it will dovetail with a promotion for AirPods.
The Sellers Research Group (that’s me) doesn’t think Apple will do this — or at least I hope they don’t. The EarPods aren’t that great, but dropping them entirely would smack of greed on the company’s part.
