The Lunatik: Flak case for the iPhone gives your Apple smartphone its own flack jacket for protection. Sorry, I couldn’t resist the bad pun.
The $34.95 case — which I tested on my iPhone 6s Plus — is a dual-layer jacket designed with two low-profile layers of protection, including a soft TPU material and hard polycarbonate shell. The materials interlock with a slide and snap attachment and are easy to install.
The smooth sleeve is very “grippable.” The case seems quite durable and protective, though some sort of screen protector would have been nice.
The Flak does make it a bit more difficult to use your iPhone. The Lightning connector, microphone, speaker and audio jack are as accessible as on a “naked” iPhone, but it took me a bit more fumbling than usual to use the on/off switch and the mute switch.
The Flak case is reasonably attractive. It’s available in black and dark raspberry for the iPhone 6/6 Plus and in black, silver, black gold, dark blue and dark raspberry for the iPhone 6s/6s Plus.
