As noted by PCMag,Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most popular 5G phone in 49 of 50 U.S. states, and the iPhone 12 Pro is the most popular 5G phone in the last one, according to exclusive new data from Speedtest by Ookla.
Ookla and research firm M Science looked into usage and sales numbers for 5G phones in the U.S. to get an idea of their popularity. iPhones tend to be highly favored in the U.S, and the biggest, most expensive iPhone (the iPhone 12 Pro Max) pulled into the lead in both data providers’ rankings.
PCMag notes that M Science directly tracks sales and provided cumulative sales figures up until January 23, while Ookla looks at the usage of its Speedtest apps on consumers’ phones and gave data for tests taken in January.
Both data research companies agree that the iPhone 12 Pro Max is the most popular 5G phone in the U.S, although they swap positions on the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro, the latter of which is most popular in Vermont (and Washington, D.C.), according to Ookla. Both firms show the iPhone 12 mini to be the least popular iPhone of the 12 series.
