Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tells MacRumors that while the Apple Watch Ultra will be updated this year, the new model will have "almost no" hardware upgrades compared to the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
I don’t usually complain (too much) about Apple products being overpriced. However, the US$99 Ocean Band for the Apple Watch Ultra is about twice the price it should be.
Not that it’s a bad product; in fact, its any excellent watchband for water activities. As described by Apple, it’s molded in a high performance elastomer with a tubular geometry allowing it to stretch for a perfect fit, even over a wetsuit. The corrosion-resistant titanium buckle and adjustable loop secure the band during high-speed water sports.
I also it great for running since a study has shown that you should routinely clean your Apple Watch band, which can be a breeding ground for bacteria. And the elastomer Ocean Band — available in white, orange, and blue (my favorite) is much easier to clean than the Trail Loop or Alpine Loop, both of which are made of nylon, 100% recycled polyester, 100% and recycled spandex
Still, $100 for the watch band!? Plus, it only comes with one adjustable loop. If you need a band extension, that will cost you another $49.
The bottom line is that the Ocean Band is a great product that’s greatly overpriced.
