The Apple Daily Report for Nov. 30, 2016

The AWT News Update is on hiatus while my compadre, Steve, takes a road trip. In its place, I’ll offer a text-only (no podcast) summary of breaking stories with a tip o’ my hat to my former website, Apple Daily Report.

Apple has updated its website where customers can send in an old device for recycling to include the Apple Watch. That means that customers can now send their old Apple Watch to be responsibly recycled through the company’s Apple Renew program free of charge, but it’s not offering customers a gift card or any credit in exchange like it does with iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Apple announced at WWDC in June that Apple Pay would be coming to Spain at some point this year, and Spanish site Applesfera is reporting that the service will launch tomorrow for Banco Santander customers.

According to DigiTimes, the first H-series Kaby Lake quad-core processors intended for high-end gaming laptops and ultrabook-class machines like the MacBook Pro will be revealed at the January Consumer Electronics Show.

Schools must reduce the use of iPads during lessons amid concerns that children are using them to bully and harass one another, an UK minister has warned. Edward Timpson, the Minister for Children and Families, said a number of schools were allowing children to spend “too much” of the day on their devices.

MacRumors has been forwarded an email in which Apple CEO Tim Cook, responding to a customer, allegedly said he anticipates AirPods to begin shipping “over the next few weeks.”
