Speck CandyShell Inked Luxury cases for iPhone 6 shine in design and protection

Some of the most colorful protective cases for the iPhone come from Speck, and with the new CandyShell Inked Luxury line (US$49.95, available exclusively at Best Buy), the company has gone all out to beautify and protect your iPhone 6.

The cases are designed with military grade drop protection, and meet or exceed MIL-STD-810G drop test standards. That protection comes from a hard outside shell with a cushioning silicone wrapper inside and on the edges. There’s a slightly raised bezel to protect screens from drops right onto the phone face. With all of the protection, the Inked Luxury cases weigh in at only 1.8 ounces.

There are button covers for the power and volume buttons, and amply-sized cutouts in all of the other usual places to ensure that you’ll be able to plug in accessories, take pictures, and be able to hear your speaker phone.

But what really makes the Inked Luxury line stand out from Speck’s other CandyShell cases is the graphic design. There are eight different designs, each using vivid colors and graphics to make a really eye-popping case you’ll be happy to have on your iPhone 6.

My only concern — and this seems to be an issue with Speck lately — is the price. They’re beautiful and protective cases, but whether or not the Inked Luxury cases are worth $50 is up to you.
