Scare up some great Messages with the Monster Maker sticker pack

Fall is here and Halloween is only a little over a week away. Many people enjoy decorating this time of year whether it be jazzing up homes and yards or one’s iPhone. Customization has long been limited on the iPhone but with iOS 10, Apple greatly revamped iMessages to allow various effects and stickers. Stickers are apps that can be downloaded from within the Messages app itself. I have always enjoyed the built-in emojis provided by Apple, but with the introduction of stickers, the selection of fun is now limitless.

There are many sticker apps vying for your dollars this Autumn. I’ve had the opportunity to use Monster Maker ($0.99) developed by independent developer William Robinson, and like other sticker packs, there are numerous graphics and GIFs that you can include in your Messages to others on iOS 10.

The “maker” part of Monster Maker comes from the ability to combine graphics and make your own custom stickers. There are Halloween-themed stickers as well as some that are oriented toward Fall and Thanksgiving.  You can select from four categories of graphics, then tap a large plus sign in a purple circle to make your own stickers by combining others. For example, I was able to create a nice sticker of bats flying on a background of orange and black hearts. The stickers you create are then available in your last used stickers for quick retrieval.

I’ve been able to combine some graphics that provide a great Halloween or Fall look to my messages. With the ability to make your own stickers from the ones included, the 99 cent cost of the Monster Maker sticker pack is a very worthwhile purchase. You can download Monster Maker by opening Messages, then selecting the app icon directly to the left of the message edit field. Select the button that looks like four little ovals at the bottom left, then tap the blue plus ( + ) sign. This allows you to search for Monster Maker in the Messages App Store.

Monster Maker will certainly add some fun and flavor to your Messages this year. I found it to be a really fun app, and I will definitely use it this season to add some holiday flare to my Messages.
