In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — display industry consultant Ross Young says Apple will introduce an 11-inch iPad Pro, 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and 13-inch MacBook Air with OLED displays in 2024.
He didn’t offer details, has previously said all three devices would have “two-stack” OLED displays with two red, green, and blue emission layers for increased brightness and lower power consumption. Young also previously said all three devices would also support ProMotion for up to a 120Hz refresh rate.
Other reports/rumors have said pretty much the same regarding the iPads, though there’s been less speculation about OLED Mac laptops. Apple may adopt a “hybrid” OLED technology in 2024 iPads that could allow for slimmer devices while lowering production costs, according to an Oct. 11 DigiTimes report (a subscription is required to read the entire article).

In July Apple purportedly confirmed that an organic light emitting diode (OLED) display iPad will be released — in 2024, according to ET News. The article says the updated tablets will boast improved picture quality and be lightweight.
The Elec says Apple will also introduce the iPad OLED display dry etching process for the first time. Display dry etching is a process of removing unnecessary parts using chemical technology when making thin film transistor (TFT) circuit patterns. The display can be etched to make the display thinner and lighter.
