Rumor: Apple’s super-sized, 6.5-inch smartphone may be dubbed the ‘iPhone Xs Max’

Apple’s upcoming 6.5-inch iPhone could be called the “iPhone Xs Max,” according to 9to5Mac citing unnamed “sources with knowledge of Apple’s marketing plans.” Personally, I hope not, as that’s an unwieldy moniker.

Last week a Bloomberg report claimed that  tech giant has at least considered branding the new premium phones the “iPhone Xs,” indicating that they’re an upgrade to last year’s iPhone X.

The the new iPhone Xs and Xs Max are expected to include 4GB of RAM, up from 3GB, dual SIM options in some markets on the larger model, and a speed boost with a new A12 chip. Whatever their names, you can expect to see the new Apple smartphones unveiled at the September 12 “Gather Round” event.

What’s more, a report from Macerkpof claims that the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will cost around $699. The iPhone Xs would be in the $800 range (seemingly taking the spot of the iPhone 8 Plus which retails for $799).
