Rumor: Apple’s AirPower is coming next month

Japanese publication Mac Otakara says — as noted by AppleInsider — that Apple’s AirPower will go on sale in March. A specific date wasn’t mentioned.

The AirPower is a wireless charging mat that will be able to charge a Qi-compatible iPhone, an Apple Watch, and a pair of AirPods (in a special wireless charging case) at the same time regardless of where they’re placed on the pad. AirPower hasn’t been priced yet, but guesses have it costing anywhere from $150 – $200.

Chances this rumor is true, according to the Sellers Research Group (that’s me): 90%. Apple said the AirPower was coming in early 2018, so March sounds like a reasonable month to me.
