Re/code: Apple to hold October 27 media event to announce new computer models

A month ago, Dennis speculated that Apple would hold an event on October 25 to announce new MacBooks. When Apple rescheduled its 4Q earnings call from October 25 to October 27, his guess moved to that date. Now that speculation appears to be gaining a grain of truth, with Re/code reporting that Apple will hold an event on that date “at or near” Apple’s Cupertino, CA headquarters

Most recent rumors have pointed to a release of three new MacBooks: new 13- and 15-inch MacBook Pros with a customizable “Control Strip” above the keyboard, as well as a new 13-inch MacBook Air.

The 2016 MacBook Pros will most likely include Touch ID, have a new sleeker design, use Intel’s “Skylake” processors for performance and efficiency, and USB-C ports with Thunderbolt 3 support.
