Proton introduces Proton Family, a privacy and security solution for families

Proton — the company behind Proton Mail, Proton VPN , Proton Drive and the recently released Proton Pass — has launched the Proton Family plan, an all-in-one digital security and privacy solution designed for families.

The plan offers up to six family members access to Proton’s premium services and features, including end-to-end encryption for emails, calendars, file storage, password management, and VPN protection.

Proton Family is specifically designed to help parents protect their loved ones in the digital age. With 3TB of shared storage space, each family member has his/her own encrypted email address and calendar, secure storage for files and passwords, and a VPN for secure browsing.

Starting at US$19.99 per month, the Proton Family plan includes:

  • Up to six family members
  • 3TB shared storage space, with an additional 20 GB bonus storage every year
  • Access to Proton Mail, Proton Drive, Proton VPN, Proton Calendar, and Proton Pass (currently in beta), including all premium features, managed under a single plan.
  • Access to paid versions of new privacy services released in the future

Existing Proton Visionary subscribers can also add family members to their plan, giving them access to the same benefits as the Proton Family plan.

To get started with the Proton Family plan, users can sign up directly or upgrade their existing plan, invite family members to join by sending an invitation, and use the Easy Switch tool to migrate emails, calendars, and contacts from other providers. With the recent announcement of Proton Mail’s auto-forwarding tool for Gmail, family members can now test the service with their everyday email before fully transitioning to it too.
