Pixelmator for Mac adds Quick Selection Tool, Magnetic Selection Tool, more

The Pixelmator Team has announced Pixelmator 3.5 Canyon, an update to its image editor for Mac OS X. It’s one of my favorite apps; check out my review here.

Pixelmator allows you to create, edit, and enhance your images, letting you work seamlessly between a Mac and iPad. Version 3.5 brings a Quick Selection Tool and a Magnetic Selection Tool. The former analyzes colors, textures, contrasts, shadows, highlights, and many more elements of an image, and automatically detects the object being selected. The latter automatically snaps to object edges.What’s more, The Pixelmator Team is bringing a full set of Pixelmator retouching tools to the Photos app, including the Pixelmator Repair Tool.

Pixelmator 3.5 Canyon requires Mac OS X 10.9.5 or later and costs $29.99. It’s available worldwide through the Mac App Store in the Graphics & Design category.
