Emoji have become part of the way that humans communicate with each other, often expressing a lot more in one simple image than we could say in a dozen words. Today, in honor of World Emoji Day, Apple previewed a number of new emoji that will be appearing with iOS 11 and macOS High Sierra later this year.
Not only do we get a really tasty looking sandwich, a dinosaur, a Tolkienesque elf, and a guy practicing yoga, but several emoji that are in tune with society today including a woman wearing a hijab and another woman breastfeeding a baby. We also get a wonderful zombie, a zebra, and finally the one emoji we’ve been waiting for — I’m calling him “Mr. Barfy”.
