olloclip announces Pivot, an iPhone-compatible articulating grip

olloclip has unveiled announced the Pivot, a compact articulating grip optimized for mobile videography. iPhone compatible, it features an articulating hub that provides 225 degrees of rotation to ensure proper positioning.

The Pivot is also water resistant and can be taken for a swim when using a waterproof camera or GoPro. The ergonomic design results in a more natural feel in the hand and features passive stabilization, minimizing camera shake in video, according to Patrick O’Neill, olloclip founder.

You can connect your smartphone or favorite camera through the included universal clamp or 1/4-20 tripod mount.  Or use the GoPro adapter to connect your GoPro. The integrated cold shoe mount also allows for lightweight accessories such as a light or microphone to be attached.

Owners of olloclip’s Studio case can connect to Pivot using Studio’s tripod mount in either portrait or landscape orientation. Pivot also enhances the experience of shooting with smartphones paired with olloclip lenses – including the 4-in-1 Lens, Active Lens and Macro Pro, notes O’Neill.

Pivot by olloclip retails for $49.99 and comes in a black/red color combination. The product is available for pre-order now with a targeted release of late October.
