Now You Can Have a ChatGPT-Style Chat on Your Apple Watch

“ChatGPT” has recently become the buzziest word in the tech world. Their API is open access now — no wonder numerous companies are rushing to stuff their products with the perks of the chat.  

Now, ChatGPT functionality is adapted for the Apple Watch.

A new app called Pete brings the world of AI to wearables. Previously, it was known as watchGPT, yet the makers decided to change the name as the app appeared last in alphabetic lists.

Before this, Apple’s Siri was considered the most profound AI solution for wearables. Twelve years ago, as it was first presented to the audience, the ability to learn time in the other part of the world or read aloud a weather forecast enchanted its users. Yet, through time, Siri’s functionality got outdated, and its heavy build made it difficult to evolve. The same refers to other software of the kind. In an interview with The Financial Times, Satya Nadella from Microsoft said voice assistants are “dumb as a rock.”

The new-era chatbots are different. While the previous assistants depended on an extensive database of pre-coded solutions, the new software is taught to improvise answers in real-time and evolve almost endlessly.

The makers hope the new product will be able to complete the flaws of Siri.

The new app can receive voice commands, too, although this function is not default, answers users’ questions, and generates texts in response to queries. Although this sort of functionality is often approached with a smartphone or tablet, the watch version of the app comes in handy too.

It may be used when you suddenly need information on a question that popped up during a spontaneous conversation or have to write an e-mail while walking a dog.

Generally, a wrist-mounted version of the most excellent app of our time is a great thing to always have at hand. It generates poems, jokes, and songs, as well as helps to find information needed, which makes it a great assistant for studies, and, to be honest, for parties.

Although the newly arisen field is dominated by OpenAI partnering with Microsoft, other big names in the industry aren’t going to lag behind. As reported in a recent NYT article, Apple, Google, and Amazon are rushing to develop their own ChatGPT-like products and utilize the power of language processing in developing their new products.

AI specialists predict that the new products will merge voice assistants and chatbots to help people perform tasks more complicated than reading weather forecasts aloud. IT businesses worldwide are doing this already, and they are pretty successful. Apps like ChatSonic or Alissu are great examples of this.

Everything tells us that chatbot-powered applications are the “next big thing.” They will be present here for some time, if not forever. The new tech can revive any type of app on the market.
