Notable apps and updates: February 26

On a regular basis, Apple World Today posts a list of notable new apps or app updates that have been released. They may not necessarily be new, but they’re popular and deserve mention. Here are today’s picks.

iOS

Code Corporation, which specializes in barcode scanning and data capture technologies, has released a free iOS/iPadOS version of the CortexScan app.

It’s a barcode reading application powered by Code’s CortexDecoder technology.

The CortexScan app can use the camera on an iPhone or iPad to read and decode more than 40 different barcode symbologies using proprietary decoding algorithms. It’s organized to help customers evaluate the app based on their use case.

The settings for several use cases are pre-optimized for various industries and workflows. The app works with the CortexDecoder, an enterprise-grade barcode decoder.

macOS

.com Solutions has announced FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition 9.26 with enhanced FileMaker Pro and Visual FoxPro to LiveCode Conversions.

FmPro Migrator is a stand-alone app that migrates FileMaker Pro, Access, VFP databases to MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2 and more. All customers now receive the FmPro Migrator Platinum Edition features, including the conversion of 250 layouts/forms/reports per project.

FmPro Migrator (including Developer Edition and Platinum Edition features) is priced at US$99 per developer, and is available immediately.
