News round-up: Tim Cook says tech companies need more regulation (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has added his voice to the growing chorus of prominent people both inside and outside the tech sector that are calling for government to become more involved in regulating technology firms, according to The Street.

As noted by AppleInsider, Beyonce’s Lemonade album is now finally available on Apple Music as well as other streaming services like Spotify. Apple is promoting the album on its Browse tab, alongside a live album for Homecoming, a documentary covering Beyonce’s 2018 Coachella concert. 

Apple Pay will reportedly launch in Australia on Wednesday. As previously confirmed initial banks will include N26 and Erste Bank und Sparkasse, Der Standard says.

Apple hints that most MacBook and MacBook Pro keyboard repairs will be required to be completed at Apple Stores until further notice, rather than being shipped to an off-site Apple repair center, according to an internal memo shared with Apple Store employees last week and obtained by MacRumors

Powerbeats Pro will hit stores across 20 countries sometime in May for $249.95, followed by additional countries later this summer and fall, but the initial release next month will only include the black color option, per 9to5Mac.
