News round-up: ‘Snowbrawl’ video was shot on an iPhone 11 Pro (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, we’ll frequently offer a wrap-up of news items you should check out. 

Apple has posted a video on its YouTube channel called Snowbrawl. Shot on an iPhone 11 Pro and directed by  David Leitch, it features a bunch of kids having a snowball fight.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed legislation requiring all smartphones, computers and smart TV sets sold in the country to come pre-installed with Russian software.

Per MacRumors: Apple has arranged for a representative to meet with Taiwanese touchscreen-related manufacturer GIS next week to discuss development of an iPhone with an under-display fingerprint scanner for release as early as next year, according to a pair of reports from the Economic Daily News

Apple has updated the App Store with charts that highlight the top free apps and games, paid and free, for iOS and iPadOS.

Apple has stopped signing code for iOS 13.2.2 now that iOS 13.2.3 is available. Code signing is the process of digitally signing executables and scripts to confirm the software author and guarantee that the code hasn’t been altered or corrupted since it was signed.

Sony is rolling out firmware updates for several TV lines that run Android TV. The update adds several new features, including HomeKit and AirPlay 2 support.

Apple Hillsdale in San Mateo, California, will move to a brand new space on Dec. 7, according to 9to5Mac.
