News round-up: Powerbeats Pro available for pre-order this month US, France, Germany (and more)

ince Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

Powerbeats Pro UK, French and German pre-orders begin on Friday. Although Apple’s local websites only say “coming soon,’” the Beats websites for the three countries have been updated to say that the in-ear headphones will be available for pre-order in May, says 9to5Mac.

The new Apple Card launches this summer, and it could reap as much as $1 billion in annual revenues for the Apple within a few years, according to estimates from Alliance Bernstein, as noted by  Business Insider.

Apple will be making cuts to production for its older iPhone models in the third quarter, Rosenblatt Securities predicts — in a note obtained by AppleInsider . However, while the 2019 iPhone manufacturing effort is believed to be on schedule, the analysts don’t believe market share will be maintained in China due to the turbulent trade relations with the U.S.

Commuters at 16 stations on the 4, 5, and 6 lines, plus all Staten Island buses will be able to use “Express Transit” with Apple Pay on their Apple Watches or iPhones starting May 31, according to TechCrunch.

Speaking of Apple Pay, in its latest update to its app, Revolut’s digital banking service has added support for Apple Pay in a few European countries.

Apple has published a new page, “App Store, Principles and Practices,” in which it explains its policies in making its App Store “a safe and trusted place for customers to discover and download apps, and a great business opportunity for all developers.”

AppleInsider says Apple’s first Latin American flagship store is back on track for unveiling in an upscale Mexico City mall later this year after undergoing a major redesign to consolidate two stories of floorspace into one.
