News round-up: Intel offers details on ‘Comet Lake chips (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, we’ll frequently offer a wrap-up of news items you should check out.

As discussed by AnandTech, at this week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Intel at CES provided details on its upcoming 10th-generation 45W “Comet Lake” chips, which could be slated for future 16-inch MacBook Pro models.

Apple has has added a new behind the scenes video about “The Morning Show” to its Apple TV YouTube channel.

In a note to clients — as noted by AppleInsider — investment bank J.P. Morgan is reiterating its favorable view on shares of Apple, saying it sees several catalysts to earnings upside in 2020 that could drive a further re-rating of the company’s shares to a 20X price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple.

LG has announced that it is adding support for Apple’s TV app to its webOS smart TV platform. This means that owners of LG smart TVs will soon be able to access Apple TV+, iTunes content, and more without using an Apple TV or other streaming accessory.

In an internal memo shared with Apple Authorized Service Providers — as noted by MacRumors — Apple has indicated that it will update its serial number format to a randomized alphanumeric string for future products starting lat this year. The company says all serial numbers that exist before the change is made will remain the same. 

Patricia Arquette, coming off her third Golden Globe win last night for The Act, is set for a lead role alongside Adam Scott in Severance, Apple’s upcoming workplace thriller drama directed by and executive produced by Ben Stiller, reports Deadline.
