News round-up: GarageBand turns 15 this year (and more)

Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, at the end of each week day, we’ll offer this wrap-up of news items you should check out.

GarageBand turns 15 this year. Rolling Stone offers a behind-the-scenes look at Apple’s entry level, music creation tool.

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has opened up experimental spectrum licenses for 6G. 5G has barely gotten off the ground, but U.S. regulators are already looking to the next big thing in wireless, according to CNET.

Dr. Sumbul Desa, Apple’s vice president of Health, provides details on the Apple Watch Heart Study in a new interview with Men’s Health.

Apple has released the sixth developer betas of macOS 10.14.4, iOS 12.2, tvOS 12.2, and watchOS 5.2. Registered developers can download the betas via Apple’s developer portal. Or they can be downloaded over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center. 

On the new MacVoices, Gregorio Zanon, the owner and manager of DigiDNA, gives an update on the latest feature additions to iMazing, the iPhone backup and archiving utility. Version 2.9 adds WhatsApp chats to the mix, and supports better PDF exports.

Sony’s PlayStation Vue is expanding its “multi-view” feature, which already available on PlayStation 4, to Apple TV subscribers of the streaming service.

California just introduced Right to Repair legislation, making it the 20th state to propose legislation in 2019 and the second year in a row Right to Repair has been considered in California.
