News items you should check out: Sept. 1

Since I can’t cover everything, here are some recommended articles from some other sources:

° From MacRumors: Apple today added 2017 models of the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar to its vintage products list worldwide.

° From 9to5Mac: Apple has quietly ended a long-running new customer free trial offer for its streaming service, Apple TV+, in the UK. UK marketing pages for TV+ have today removed all mentions of the seven day free trial from ad copy.

° From AppleInsider: A researcher who was able to track people’s use of the MTA subway system in New York, says that the same methodology exposes an Apple Pay vulnerability — but it’s not clear if it actually does.

° From iMore: Running ChatGPT on your iPad just got a whole lot better thanks to a new update to Petey, an iPhone and Apple Watch app that brings the large language model (LLM )to Apple devices.

° From MacVoices Live!: On the new episode, the MacVoices Live! of panel Chuck Joiner, David Ginsburg, Eric Bolden, Jim Rea, Jeff Gamet, Web Bixby, and Brian Flanigan-Arthurs finish off this session with two topics: the preservation of family photos and the security of Ford vehicles.
