News items you should check out: March 24

Since I can’t cover everything, I’ll often direct your attention to articles of interest. To wit:

° From MacRumors: Following the release of iOS 15.4 on March 14, Apple has stopped signing iOS 15.3.1, the previously available version of iOS that came out in February. As iOS 15.3.1 is no longer being signed, it is not possible to downgrade to that version of iOS if you’ve updated to iOS 15.4.

° From the Apple TV+ website: The Apple TV+ website has been updated with an Up Next queue for shows, making it easier to keep track of and watch Apple TV+ content on the web.

° From The Mac Observer: More new malware is making the rounds. A hacking group out of China known as Storm Cloud has released new malware software known as GIMMICK. Security firm Volexity discovered the malware after retrieving it from the RAM of a MacBook Pro running macOS Big Sur 11.6.

° From Apple: iPhone’s Car Key feature now supports select 2022 Genesis and Kia vehicles.

° From Cult of Mac: Disney is taking many of its classic characters in a darker direction with Disney Mirrorverse, an RPG for mobile devices, including the iPhone.

° From 9to5Mac: DSCC analyst Ross Young says under-the-display Face IS technology will land on the iPhone 16 at the earliest.

° From AppleInsider: Despite supply issues, Apple is geared up for a “monster growth cycle” for 2022 that isn’t currently baked into its share price, according to a Wedbush analyst.

° From GQ: Apple’s Mac Studio was almost two decades in the making.
