News items you should check out: Feb. 2

Since I can’t cover everything, I like to offer a daily roundup of must-read articles from some other great websites:

° From 9to5Mac: In macOS Ventura, there is a range of problems impacting the reliability and usefulness of notifications.

° From MacRumors: Former Apple designer Sir Jony Ive has created a new-look red nose to celebrate Red Nose Day, the annual Comic Relief charity telethon broadcast on British television that aims to raise money for poor and disadvantaged people.

° From AppleInsider: The iPhone apparently has more than just water resistance, as one survived a brief and accidental dip into boiling oil, as shown by a viral TikTok video.

° From People: An airline passenger who lost his wallet on a plane tracks it to 35 cities via an Apple AirTag as he tries to get it back.

° From Fox 19 Now: A Cincinnati police officer has been fired after planting an Apple AirTag on a woman to track her movements, following her to a friend’s home and damaging her friend’s property.
