Since Steve and I can’t cover everything, occasionally we’ll direct your attention to articles from various other sources worth your time.

° In order to meet demand for M1 (Apple Silicon) Macs and the new M1-equipped iPad Pro, Apple supplier TSMC plans to rev production of the chip, per DigiTimes.

° Apple plans to boost its advertising business through a new ad slot on the App Store search page that will allow developers to promote their apps across the entire platform, reports the Financial Times.

° According to MacRumors, Apple plans to add the ability to add U.S. places of interest to its Maps app. Also, Apple is now publicly testing its revamped Apple Maps in Spain and Portugal.

° According to Hebrew-language site Calcalist, Apple is expected to launch Apple Pay in Israel the first week of May.

° AppleInsider notes that the first developer beta of macOS 11.4 shows it offers the ability for Intel-based Macs to connect to GPUs that use AMD Navi RDNA2 architecture.

° In a new episode, the MacVoices Live! panel of Jeff Gamet, David Ginsburg, Jim Rea, Frank Petrie, Kelly Guimont, Brittany Smith, and new addition Mark Fuccio join host Chuck Joiner to wrap up the examination of the new iPad Pro, then turn their attention to the new M1 iMac, with a stop along the way to comment on the new purple iPhone options.
