Neonode has created the AirBar, a $99 device that adds touchscreen capabilities to a 13.3-inch MacBook Air. It’s a light weigh, brushed aluminum bar that magnetically attaches to the bottom of the laptop display and plugs in via USB to instantly activate touch and gesture capabilities, with no software installation or additional configuration required.
The AirBar uses Neonode’s zForce AIR technology to emit an invisible light field over a display that senses touch from fingers, gloves and even a paintbrush. U.S. online retailers for the range include Amazon, BestBuy, Staples, and Evine.com. In-store retailers include Fry’s Electronics, and selected Apple Authorized Resellers nationally.
