myCharge’s Razor Platinum is a good accessory for traveling MacBook owners

Consumers have been able to charge their iPhones and iPads away from a wall outlet for years thanks to car adapters and battery banks as small as credit cards. Now we laptop owners can join this club thanks to the $99.99 myCharge Razor Platinum.

It’s great for users of the 12-inch MacBook as it can charge USB-C notebooks such as Apple’s from zero power to 100% in about 100 minutes thanks to its 36W output. The teeny laptop has 10 hours of wireless web browsing and up to 11 hours of iTunes movie playback with its own battery fully charged. With the Razor Platinum in tow, you can double that time when you’re on the road.

In addition to keeping your MacBook juiced, its USB-a port allows you to charge phones, tablets and other devices at the same time. As for the myCharge device itself, you can recharge it about two hours using the the MacBook 29 watt adaptor.

The Razor Platinum, crafted from anodized aluminum, measures 6.5 x 4.8 x 1.1 inches and weighs about a pound, so it’s easily portable. It purportedly maintains its battery power for up to one year, but I can’t vouch for that.

The Razor Platinum is a little pricey, but if you need a laptop and phone charger all in one, this is a solid choice.
