‘La La Land’ writer-director lands straight-to-series order from Apple

“La La Land” writer and director Damien Chazelle has landed a straight-to-series order at Apple for an “innovative” new drama, a source close to production tells TheWrap.

He plans to write and direct every episode of the one-hour drama. Other details on the series, including an episode count, haven’t been disclosed, notes TheWrap.

“La La Land” executive producers Jordan Horowitz and Fred Berger are joining Chazelle on the untitled project. Horowitz will produce with his banner, Original Headquarters, and Berger under his, Automatik. Media Rights Capital will produce the company’s first project with Apple.
