I’ve eliminated most of the ads at ‘Apple World Today’, so I hope you’ll support the site

As you’ve probably noticed (at least I hope you have, or else I’ve made a bad decision): most of the ads have disappeared from Apple World Today.

A few weeks ago, I enabled the “Optimize Ads” at Google AdSense to see if revenue would go up. It did. Substantially. However, ads began sprouting up everywhere. In between articles on the home page. Inside articles. A pop-up window would appear if you clicked an article link showing an ad before you even got to the article itself.

I found all the ads very annoying — and felt they were detrimental to the user experience at AWT. So I turned off most of ‘em. Only the ones in the right-hand sidebar remain — and some of them will be leaving soon.

Helping with income is a plethora of requests for sponsored posts. But I’ll handle those with care. There will be no more than two per day. Posts about casinos, gambling, cannabis, and mail-order brides (no, really, I had such a request) will be denied.

I prefer sponsored posts over in-your-face ads because you, dear reader, can choose to read ‘em or not.

However, sponsored posts don’t bring in nearly enough income. So I hope that you’ll consider becoming a patron of Apple World Today. Prices range from $2 a month to $10 a month. You can sign up here. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Very cool. Any chance for an annual option? Been trying to cut down on monthly subscriptions in favor of yearly ones.
