iOttie Easy Smart Tap 2 is a great mount (if you’ve got the right model of iPad)

By Chris Gannon

The iOttie Easy Smart Tap 2 is a wonderful mount for your tablet — if you have an iPad 3/4, iPad mini, or iPad Air. I’ve been using the $44.95 mount for some time now and have really come to appreciate the use I get out of it in our van.

Going on long trips with little ones (and I have three!) can get pretty squirrelly. Sometimes the only thing you can really do is put something on the iPad, and let everyone chill out a little bit. However, nothing can be more frustrating that having an Apple tablet, but no way of making it stand up and stay in place.

I can’t tell you the amount of time it has taken me to get the iPad to sit up and be still while driving. My wife and I often grab anything we can find in the van to prop it up with: jackets, sippy cups, McDonald’s apple pies, etc.. Of course these don’t really work that well, and then it’s only a matter of time before someone gets cold (and wants their jacket back) or thirsty (and need their sippy cup).

Meanwhile, I’m driving like a maniac because I’m trying to avoid any and all bumps in the road, while at the same time trying to keep an eye on the iPad – lest it fall down and chaos ensue. In short the iOttie Easy Smart Tap 2 has made life a lot easier, and I would definitely recommend it.

It has helped me stay a little saner, it has made me a better driver, and has eliminated my need for certain “medications” (just kidding). You could use this — as we have — in your car, or you could easily use it on a desk as well. The suction on this thing works great. It’s durable and it has a great amount of rotation. The price is right as well.
