iFixIt announces its own iPhone battery replacement program

Apple has published an apology letter to customers in regards to “Batterygate” and offered a battery replacement program for the iPhone 6 and later. However, the gang at iFixIt is cutting cutting the prices on all of its DIY battery install kits to $29 or less.

The kits include all the tools you need to open up and swap your own battery.  iFixIt also have options for the iPhone 4S, 5, 5s and 5c — which are excluded from Apple’s new program.
