In a note to clients — as noted by MacRumors — analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple will release new MacBook Pro and MacBook Air models with scissor keyboards (such as that found in the 16-inch MacBook Pro) in the second quarter of the year.
He also forecasts that the tech giant plans to launch MacBook models with its own custom processors in the fourth quarter of 2020 or the first quarter of 2021. He didn’t whether they’ll be MacBook Pro or MacBook Air models, or both
Here’s how the Sellers Research Group (that’s me) sees it: the upcoming MacBook Pro revamp will be a 14-incher that replaces the current 13-inch model. The MacBook Air will retain its 13-inch design.
I think the ARM-equipped laptop will be the return of the 12-inch MacBook (pictured). It will, in my opinion, be the first of many Macs to sport an Apple-based processor.
As for the 16-inch MacBook Pro, look for it to be updated this fall with even better specs and perhaps a mini-LED display.
