HSD Versions Cleaner is a relatively new app for the Mac, but one worth checking out. With it you can observe and delete old files. For instance, it can help you reduce the amount of previous file versions, stored by the macOS’s Auto Save feature.
Depending on what you do with your Mac, such previous file versions can occupy a lot of disc space, even though macOS doesn’t keep them forever. With HSD Versions Cleaner, you can define criteria which previous file versions should be deleted automatically in the background, which is very convenient.
Easy to use, HSD Versions Cleaner gives you control over how many old file versions should be kept for selected documents. You can delete a selection of old file versions manually or define criteria when certain old file versions should be deleted automatically. Both observing and deleting old file versions is done within a single application window.
HSD Versions Cleaner requires macOS 10.11 or higher and costs $2.99. It’s available at the Mac App Store.
There are other apps that do this one’s job and more. But at $3, it’s a good deal.
