Four Apple videos explain the company’s environmental initiatives

Apple has uploaded four videos to its YouTube channel ahead of Earth Day (April 22) featuring Apple employees and executives explaining the company’s environmental initiatives.

In “Do Farms Feed Yaks?,” Lisa Jackson, Apple’s lead on Environment work, gives a crash course on how the company’s 40-megawatt solar farms in China produce enough electricity for all of Apple’s offices and retail stores in the country—and grass to feed yaks.

In “Can We Produce Zero Waste?”, Jackson explains Apple’s solar policy that allows for dual and use on farms. In “Can A Building Breathe,” John Reynolds, in charge of iPhone Product Operations, looks at Apple’s goal of no waste and how it reuses old iPhone assembly trays. In “Why Does Apple Make Its Own Sweat?,” Apple’s Head of Environmental Technologies Rob Guzzo explains how Apple produces artificial sweat to test the Apple Watch and AirPods.

What’s more, as noted by 9to5Mac, Apple and the World Wildlife Fund are partnering for a special Earth Day promotion at the Apple Store. Starting today, Apple will donate $1 to the World Wildlife Fund for every purchase made in stores with Apple Pay. To participate, visit an Apple retail location and purchase any item and pay with Apple Pay from any Apple Watch or compatible iPhone.
