Now that the Apple Car project is abandoned, I want an Apple Jetpack. According to a September 2015 CNET article,, Google X, the search giant’s secret lab, once considered making a jetpack, but abandoned it due to a lack of practicality such as a too much noise and too little power.
Time for Apple to step up and show Google how it’s done. Imagine the 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference when Tim Cook jet-packs onto the stage for the keynote. All that “he’s no Steve Jobs” talk would vanish forever.
As for the battery life issue, that is a problem. But look at all the progress Apple has made with batteries in its iDevices and laptops. As for the noise issue, our favorite tech companies has filed a few patents regarding noise cancellation, such as this patent number 8515089. (Sure, the patents involve iPhones, but, hey, I never said this would be easy.)
So, forget Google. Let Apple show how making jetpacks is done.
