Elgato’s Thunderbolt 3 Dock arrives on June 6

Elgato has announced that its Thunderbolt 3 Dock will be available in the U.S., Europe and Australia on June 6. It’s designed for laptop users who need a multi-monitor workstation with high-speed expansion options and secure networking.

The Thunderbolt 3 Dock connects and charges your MacBook Pro using one cable. It provides two Thunderbolt 3 ports: one to connect and charge your computer, and one to extend the versatility of Thunderbolt further.

Featuring a DisplayPort, the dock will drive up to two additional displays without compromising their 4k resolution at 60Hz frame rates, according to the folks at OWC. The Thunderbolt 3 Dock is equipped with three USB 3.0 ports to ensure that multiple devices can be operated at full speed.

A 15-inch MacBook Pro is charged at 85W, USB-C accessories receive up to 15W of power, while the built-in USB 3.0 ports provide boosted charging for your iPad or iPhone. What’s more, there are an integrated Gigabit Ethernet port, an amplified audio output and a separate microphone input.

Elgato Thunderbolt 3 Dock will cost $299.95 and come with 1.6-footThunderbolt 3 cable that enables up to 40 Gb/s throughput and full power delivery.
