DigiTimes: Apple, Samsung, Amazon to be the top three 2017 global tablet vendors

Apple, Samsung Electronics and Amazon will be the top three tablet vendors worldwide in 2017, while Huawei will move to fourth place, surpassing Lenovo thanks to a strategy to push product differentiation, according to DigiTimes Research.

The gap between Huawei and Lenovo gap is expected to further extend next year, adds the research group. DigiTimes expects smartphones’ impact on the tablet market to weaken after 2019 and worldwide tablet shipments will remain at above 120 million units each year with a CAGR [compound annual growth rate] of negative 1.4% from 2018-2022.
