Condé Nast Traveler has released its 21st annual HOT LIST AWARDS issue, which features the first-ever travel publication cover to be shot using an iPhone 7 Plus.
The editorial team at Condé Nast Traveler, a publication celebrated for best-in-class photography, decided to task its swath of travel photographers with highlighting the iPhone camera’s new feature, Portrait mode, that applies a depth-of-field effect to make the foreground subject sharp while creating a blurred background. The result, shot in St. Barts, was crafted into the cover of Condé Nast Traveler’s May issue, which presents a selection of the best new hotel openings of the past year.
