‘Bloomberg’ predictions for Apple’s product releases for the rest of the year

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman and Debby Wu, both of whom are reliable sources for Apple news, are expecting an incoming Apple media event to announce the following products:

Three new iPhones with “Pro” models to succeed the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, as well as a successor to the iPhone XR. The main feature of the Pro models will be a new camera system on the back with a third sensor for capturing ultra-wide-angle photos and videos. 

They’ll also pack upgraded video recording capabilities, getting them closer to professional video cameras, better water resistance, A13 processors, but no 5G. A reverse wireless charging system will allow a user can power-up the latest AirPods in the optional wireless-charging case by leaving it on the back of the new Pro phones.

The 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros will get similar upgrades to the iPhones, gaining upgraded cameras and faster processors.

The Apple Watch Series 5 that focus on watchOS 6 and new case finishes.

The rumored 16-inch MacBook Pro.

Although they don’t expect ‘em to arrive in September or October as the other products will (along with the modular Mac Pro and XDR Pro Display), Gurman and Wu are also predicting:

  • New AirPods that are more expensive than the current $159 model. New features will include water resistance and noise cancellation.

  • A cheaper HomePod for as early as next year. with two tweeters, down from seven in the current ($300) HomePod.  

In addition to all these items, you can expect macOS Catalina, iOS 13, iPadOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13, Apple Arcade, and Apple TV+ to arrive before December.
