BitTorrent’s streaming music and video app (BitTorrent Now) has been released for iOS devices and the Apple TV. If you’ve got an Apple TV, you can find the app in its App Store. The version for iPhones and iPads can be obtained at the Apple App Store.
BitTorrent has content available from filmmakers including The Onion, Super Deluxe, and IHEARTCOMIX. With BitTorrent Now, fans can find films from artists they love on their iPhone during their commute and then stream later on the couch in front of their Apple TV. They’ll also have the ability to follow artists they love, create playlists, and see what’s trending on social or in the BitTorrent community.
The app is free. Content is mainly ad-supported, although publishers can request that users login to view their work, or alternatively publish their material for a fee.
