AWT TV Episode 15: July 17, 2017

Last night, Steve and Marty were back for another hour of fun video on AWT TV. We had a few fun topics to discuss: analysts panicking about Apple (and of course they’re saying that Apple is panicking, not them…), iPhone 8 facial recognition vs. Touch ID, burn-in with OLED screens, Qualcomm’s CEO saying that he thinks that things will be settled out of court in the company’s battle with Apple, Apple’s issues with iMessage sticker packs, maybe having remote support of iOS devices, and an original Gary Katz fidget spinner.

Marty demonstrates two great utilities for iOS called System Status and Net Analyzer, which can tell you EVERYTHING about your iOS device. The apps are $2.99 and $3.99 respectively but can be purchases as a $5.99 bundle.

Steve does a quick video review of the newest version of Studio Neat’s Glif, which is a tripod mount for iPhones that has gone through several iterations and is now just about perfect.

Steve used that to talk a LOT about the upcoming August 21, 2017 “Great American Eclipse” and how he will take time lapse images of the eclipse with both an iPhone 7 Plus and a Ricoh Theta S VR camera.

Marty and Mrs. Edwards will be heading off to the annual JAMF conference in October to report on the powerful MDM software from that company, and plan to do some live video.
