AWT TV Episode 13: June 26, 2017

You may have missed out on last night’s live AWT TV, and that’s a sad thing. However, we always point you in the right direction for watching the show after the fact, and that’s the case today. Last night’s show had a slightly more structured format than usual, as well as a different venue for Steve — he was outside for the recording!

We started off with a discussion of four news items from the past week, then Marty took it from there with a detailed and fun look at using Messages. If you’re not using Messages stickers and apps to take full advantage of the app, then you’re really missing out. Even Steve — who uses the app every day — learned something he wasn’t aware of.

Steve then discussed the 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro with Touch Bar, which he has benchmarked using Geekbench 4 as being about 10 percent faster than last year’s model. The device is slender, fast and lightweight, with a beautiful Retina display and four Thunderbolt 3/USB-C ports. A full written review is forthcoming.

Note that next Monday night there will be no AWT TV, as we’ll be with our families and friends celebrating the long Independence Day weekend. Be sure to subscribe to the Apple World Today YouTube channel for notifications of new videos, and giving our videos a “like” is also welcome.
