The Apple Watch Series 9, which will likely arrive this fall, will include a new processor based on the A15 chip that was first used in the iPhone 13 models, Bloomberg‘s Mark Gurman said in the new Discord channel of his “Power On” newsletter subscribers.
“I think it’ll be a new processor, not just a re-brand of the previous generation,” he said. When asked if he thinks the new Apple Watch chip could be based on the A15 Bionic, Gurman said, ”Yes, I believe it is!”
He thinks the processor will be a lot more powerful than the Apple Watch’s change from S7 to S8 chips. The change will likely offer a substantial speed boost to the Apple Watch Series 9, which isn’t expected to sport any major design changes.
