Apple users are the least likely to snoop on their partner’s phones

BankMyCell, a site for comparing trade-in items for tech devices, gathered over 1,663 responses from 18-35 year-olds using iOS/Android devices in October. The goal of finding who’s worse at snooping on their partner’s phone, knowing their passcode, what they check, the thought pattern behind it and how it impacts their relationship.

It seems Apple users are the least likely to snoop on their partner’s phones. Sixty-three percent of Android Phone users confess to being snoopers, compared to 52% of iPhone users. Among the other BankMyCell survey findings:

  • Sixty-eight percent of men have snooped on their partner’s phone, compared to 47% of women.

  • Thirty-eight percent of men phone snoop without permission, compared to 24% of women.

  • Nine out of 10 women are happy to let their partner look through their phone if they asked.

  • Five out of 6 men are comfortable letting their partner look through their phone.

  • One in two men know how to get into their partner’s phone and snoop.

  • One in three women know their partner’s phone passcode.
